ABNA24 - An Iranian-American member of the U.S. Congress, accusing the U.S. Secretary of War of complicity in war crimes during illegal attacks against Iran, stated that she will submit a plan for his impeachment to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Yassamin Ansari, an Iranian-American member of the U.S. Congress, continuing the criticism of the actions of President Donald Trump's administration in its illegal war against Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, announced on Monday that she will present a plan to impeach U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
Publishing this matter, Turkey's TRT network reported: Ansari accused Pete Hegseth of complicity in waging an "illegal war" against Iran.
Ansari—a Democratic representative from the state of Arizona—said that Donald Trump is escalating the conflict by threatening to target civilian infrastructure.
She added that Hegseth is an "accomplice" in actions that could be considered war crimes.
In a statement on social media, Ansari said: "I have called for the activation of the 25th Amendment and I am submitting a plan for impeachment."
This move comes as pressure mounts on illegal U.S. military operations in Iran. Trump has also faced criticism for threatening to attack infrastructure such as power plants and bridges, and legal experts have warned that such actions could be a violation of international law.
Since the beginning of the war imposed by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran on February 28, government, military, and civilian sites—including schools, residential neighborhoods, and medical and relief centers—have been targeted by airstrikes. In these attacks, high-ranking political and military officials, military personnel, and civilians have been martyred.
Iran, during the Operation True Promise 4, responded to this aggression by targeting U.S. bases and interests in the region, as well as points across the occupied territories.
